Communication Fun Facts

Skittles-says Hi.!

Hi. Hello!. Aloha! Kumusta! Buenas Dias! Konichiwa!

Language never fails to connect people together. No matter what language you speak - one thing ties us humans together - that is - communication.

Be it spoken language, written language, body language or even sign language.,.we all connect through language!

Animals also have their own ways of communicating too.

Fun Fact! Did you know that:
  • FISHES communicate through vibration of their fins and muscles and as well as rubbing bones against each other especially upon courtship. They also make loud low-frequency sounds when they move their fin. Fishes also communicate by means of  odor detectors.
  • BEES communicate with each other by performing dances with a certain pattern
  • WORMS communicate with each other using touch. This is the reason why we see worms form clumps of balls in soils. After they communicate signals with each other, the worms will then collectively move in the same direction,  form ‘herds’, moving away from the undesirable environment which explains why they clump
  • COCKROACHES use chemical communication. According to scientists, roaches recommend good food sources to each other by communicating in chemicals. The research was headed by Dr Mathieu Lihoreau from Queen Mary's School of Biological and Chemical Sciences. This was then published in the journal Behavioural Ecology and Sociobiology
  • ANTS communicate by touching their antennae. They lead their fellow ants to where the food is by leaving a scent path with a chemical called a pheromone. The same chemicals human exude to attract their partners.
Amazing isn't it? Skittles-says Nature is Awesome! We each have our own little way of connecting to each other. in what ever form it may be, it still is called one word - Communication.   =P
